The sad news about Fluffy was broken to the girls on Sunday. One of their friends wanted to see the hamster and they were surprised to find the cage was gone.
They know Fluffy was let go in a field. That's it.
After we let Fluffy go in the field we walked home (about 5 minutes) and then drove back to the field to check on her. It was then that we saw the hawk (or some other huge bird of prey) swoop in and fly off with a brown, fluffy clump of fur.
We're pretty sure it was her.

My gosh! Do your kids read this? I am laughing, but that would be slightly traumatic... poor, poor Fluffy. At least a hawk lived to fight another day... LOL.
When you wrote "Hamster Heaven" it made me think of Fluffy. She was carried away by The Great Hawk to Hamster Heaven. :-) Maybe Carrie can bring the boys over and we could have a ceremony to release Buzz into "Hamster Heaven."
Carrie told Buzz has also passed into the "Great wheel in the sky".
What I really want to know is why you haven't written a children's book yet. Having read a lot of them lately, I can attest to the fact that a lot of people with a lot less talent than you have done it. You have the writing skill, you could illustrate it yourself, and now you have material: The Amazing Adventures of Fluffy Angel Monkey! (Perhaps a little less graphic for the little ones!)
