Impossibly Small Deal

My husband needed a new computer for his ministry work. We are huge Apple fans so we had to go directly to the store to buy a new laptop. It is always fun to go there and see all the workers in their matching shirts with the apple logo busy helping everyone. The girls love to sit on the rubber ball seats and play games. I check out the new stuff for a few minutes, make sure the girls are settled in and safe with their father and then go shopping. It's a good thing all around.

So the guy in the green apple shirt up sells my husband into buying a photo ipod. You get it for only $120 when you purchase a laptop. We are huge picture takers having three girls and all so he goes for it. Yeah! We got such a great deal.

Then today, as I open my browser which is set to the Apple website, I see this:

No wonder they were practically giving the things away with those smirks. They knew what was coming and they could hardly hold it in!

Green Apple shirt? I thought they only wore black tee shirts. Guess I haven't been to an Apple Store in a while.

My friend Jeremy got the same iPod deal as Larry when he bought a Powerbook last year. So don't feel like a sucker or anything. It was a good deal. Also, they discontinued the iPod Photo several months ago, so I'm sure they're just trying to get rid of them. They're still good machines though. The iPod nano replaces the iPod mini in their product line up, not the iPod Photo. You wouldn't be able to hold a lot of pics and music in a nano.

Also, aren't you glad I talked you into allowing comments now that you have to deal with comment spammers? Sorry.

Thanks for the support Brian. I told Julie all the same things you mentioned. :-) I can put the iPod Photo in my main jeans pocket instead of the little inset one (you had to see Steve Jobs presentation) if it means saving that much money and getting more storage space.

I have started emailing spammers invoices for advertising charges. I know they will never pay me, but it makes me feel better. :-)

Their shirts were special that day. Back to school promotion or something.
